Parents' Evening - Wednesday 25th March 2026

We’re pleased to let you know that our Spring Parents' Meetings will be held on Wednesday 25th March.

This is a great chance to chat with your child’s class teacher about their progress, either online or in person.

•             Online appointments: 1:30–3:00pm and 3:30–4:20pm (via Microsoft Teams)

•             Face-to-face meetings: 4:40–6:50pm in classrooms

Look out for an email next Wednesday 11th March with all the details on how to book your appointment.

Bookings can be made via the SCOPAY Parents’ Evening tab from Thursday 12th March at 4:00pm until Friday 20th March at 9:00am (first come, first served).

Parents choosing an online appointment will receive a Microsoft Teams link after bookings close. For face-to-face meetings, please arrive via the main reception.

If your child is on a SEND Support plan, you do not need to book – your child’s teacher will contact you separately.

We very much look forward to meeting with you.

Open Afternoon - Friday 20th March

A reminder that our annual Open Afternoon will take place on Friday 20th March, starting at 1:45pm. Parents are warmly invited to visit the school, explore their children's work and celebrate their progress ahead of the Parents’ Evening sessions scheduled for the following week.

The afternoon will begin with a short talk on the growing impact of technology and AI in schools, along with an overview of the school’s approach to online safety. As digital tools become an increasingly important part of children’s learning and everyday lives, this session will give parents a helpful insight into how we use technology in school and how we work to ensure pupils remain safe and responsible online.

Following this, there will be an opportunity to visit the children’s classrooms, see their work first-hand and hear about the exciting learning experiences they have been involved in.

This is a wonderful opportunity to see the children in their school environment, celebrate their achievements and share in their learning journey. We look forward to welcoming you at 1:45pm on Friday 20th March.

Please arrive promptly via the front entrance so we can begin the talk on time.

Reminder - Scooters and Bikes

We love seeing children being active, but just a quick reminder to please walk - not ride - scooters, bikes and anything similar, while on the school grounds (this includes grown-ups please!). Drop-off and pick-up times can be very busy and we want to make sure everyone stays safe. Thanks so much for your support!

Easter Holiday Club

Booking for our Easter Holiday Club is now open on SCOPAY. If you would like your child to attend, please ensure you secure your place as soon as possible.

Bookings will close on Friday 13th March to allow us time to ensure the club is staffed appropriately and prepared for the children attending.

Year 2 Blue Planet Aquarium Trip

Year 2 had a fantastic day visiting the Blue Planet Aquarium as part of our learning about Oceans and Habitats. The children were very excited to explore the aquarium and see a wide variety of sea creatures up close. From colourful fish to impressive sharks and rays, there was so much to discover!  It was a wonderful opportunity to bring our classroom learning to life and the children represented the school brilliantly. We had an amazing day, learnt lots and saw so many incredible sea creatures!

Year 5 Halle Trip

Year 5 enjoyed a wonderful trip to see the Halle Orchestra perform at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester this week. The concert's theme was Celebrating International Women's Day and featured orchestral music composed by or about women. The children were introduced to the different sections of the orchestra and also joined in with a song they had learned ready for the performance with vocals and Makaton. What a fabulous experience!

Year 1 History

🧸✨ History came to life in Year 1 this week!

As part of their learning about toys from the past, the children explored a wonderful range of old toys, sorted them into old and modern and even became toy makers themselves! 🪀🪆 They crafted their very own spinning tops and puppets and had so much fun along the way.

What a fantastic way to bring history to life through hands-on learning! 🎉📚

Year 3 Roman Day

Year 3 had an amazing day last week celebrating their Roman Day, which marked the end of their History unit on the Romans. The children all looked amazing and their shields were out of this world. Thank you so much to all of the families for supporting with this project over the half-term break. The children enjoyed making Roman Bread, Roman Coins, learning about and practising Battle Formations and then enjoyed tasting the fruits of their labour. The children had the chance to try their freshly baked bread with olive oil, olives and prunes. A wonderful day for everyone involved!

Eco News

The red-tailed bumblebee (Bombus lapidarius) is a common bee found across the UK and much of Europe. It is easy to recognise because of its black body and bright red tail. These bees are important pollinators, helping flowers, fruits, and vegetables grow by transferring pollen from one plant to another. To learn more about them, please click on the LINK.
