Parent Voice - Personal Development and Well-being
Firstly, a big thank you to all of the parents who took the time to complete our recent Parent Voice survey on Behaviour and Attitudes. We were incredibly pleased with both the number of responses received and the very positive feedback shared. Your views are genuinely valued and play an important role in helping us reflect on and continue to strengthen our provision at Bexton.
As we mentioned a few weeks ago, over the course of this term we will be sharing a series of short parent voice surveys linked to different areas of school life and the updated Ofsted framework (2025).
These surveys form part of our ongoing self-evaluation process and help us to gather parent feedback alongside pupil voice, staff feedback and leadership monitoring. They also help us evidence the positive impact of the work taking place across school, as well as identify any areas we may wish to strengthen further.
This week’s parent voice focuses on Personal Development and Well-being.
We place great importance on ensuring pupils develop not only academically but also socially, emotionally and personally. Through opportunities such as our unique Bright Beginnings Days, The Pathway, enrichment activities, pupil leadership and dedicated pastoral support, we aim to help pupils develop confidence, resilience, independence and a strong sense of belonging within our school community.
This short survey asks for your views on areas including:
• Your child’s well-being and sense of belonging
• Wider opportunities and experiences in school
• Confidence, independence and personal development
• Support for pupils’ emotional well-being
• The impact of The Pathway on pupils’ personal development
The survey should take no more than a minute or two to complete and there is also space for any additional comments should you wish to share them.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership with the school. Your feedback genuinely helps shape and strengthen our ongoing work.
Bexton Cinema Bonanza
Just another huge thank you to everyone who supported our very first Bexton Cinema Bonanza. Thanks to the incredible support from our families, staff and wider community, the event raised an amazing profit of £3771!
This is fantastic news and means we are now able to move forward with plans to go out to tender for the refurbishment of our Astro turf this summer. This project has been a long time coming and will make a huge difference to the children’s playtimes, PE lessons and outdoor opportunities - particularly during the winter months when the current surface can become difficult to use.
Thank you again for your incredible support!
Extra-Curricular Clubs
All extra-curricular clubs have now finished for this half term. The new clubs timetable, Summer 2, will be emailed on Monday 1st June and Scopay bookings will open on Wednesday 3rd June at 12pm.
OPAL
We are absolutely delighted to share that, following our OPAL reaccreditation visit on Tuesday, our school has once again achieved the prestigious Platinum Award for the second consecutive time. This outstanding achievement recognises our continued commitment to providing high-quality play opportunities for all children and reflects the importance we place on outdoor play as a vital part of children’s physical, social and emotional development. Through OPAL, our pupils are given rich opportunities to explore, create, collaborate and develop resilience, confidence and independence. This reaccreditation is a wonderful testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. Special thanks go to Mrs Whelan, Mrs Wilson and the entire OPAL team, whose passion, creativity and commitment have helped ensure that our playtimes remain exceptional and truly enriching for all of our children.
Year 1 - Chester Zoo
Year 1 enjoyed an exciting trip to Chester Zoo, where they had the opportunity to deepen their scientific understanding of different types of animals while also exploring their history topic on the history of the zoo. The children were thrilled to see a wide variety of animals from around the world and took part in a range of interactive activities throughout the day. The trip was both educational and memorable, with the children showing great curiosity, enthusiasm and excellent behaviour throughout. It was wonderful to see their learning brought to life outside the classroom!
Knutsford Lions
Knutsford Lions are once again organising their community Fair on the Large Heath this Bank Holiday 25th May. The event features a wide range of family-friendly activities while helping to raise funds and awareness for many local charities.

Eco News
The children were fortunate to enjoy a visit from Mr. Orchard also known as “The Newt Man”! The session was packed with fascinating facts, including how many eggs a female newt lays, how leaves are folded over to protect the eggs, the size and habitats of amphibians, as well as their diets and predators.
The highlight of the visit, by far, was the opportunity to handle the palmate newts! The children were thoroughly engaged throughout the presentations and hopefully we now have a few budding ecologists in the making. Earlier in the week, the children were also given a pond diary booklet, kindly donated by Knutsford Town Hall, complete with clear instructions on how to create a simple wildlife pond in their local area. 🦎
Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday, thank you for your wonderful books!
