Bexton Cinema Bonanza - Friday 15th May, 5pm - 8pm
We’re very excited to announce the next FOBS event for the summer term – the Bexton Cinema Bonanza! Taking place on Friday 15th May at 5pm, this promises to be a fun-filled evening designed to bring our community together in a slightly different way to Bexfest, whilst still keeping that much-loved festival atmosphere.
We’ve gone big! A huge 11m x 11m LED screen will transform the grounds into an outdoor cinema, showing a singalong version of The Greatest Showman. With its uplifting songs and high-energy performances, it’s the perfect film for families to enjoy together - and yes, singing and dancing along is very much encouraged!
The theme for the evening is “Showtime” with a circus twist (feel free to dress up!), so you can expect a lively, festival-style setting. There will be a wide selection of hot food stalls, including pizza, BBQ burgers, wraps and snacks, alongside treats such as ice cream, popcorn and drinks. There will also be the much-loved children’s cupolas and a range of circus-themed merchandise available to buy on the night.
To help keep things simple and avoid the need for a licence, families are welcome to bring their own alcoholic drinks, as well as camping chairs and picnic blankets to settle in and enjoy the show comfortably. Deck chairs and bean bags will also be available to hire on the night and can be pre-booked via SCOPAY.
This is set to be a fun-filled evening where families and friends can spend time together, enjoy great food and soak up the atmosphere while singing along to some fantastic music.
Tickets are £5 per person (with under 2s going free) and are available now on SCOPAY. Please note that tickets will increase to £10 on the night, so we strongly recommend booking in advance.
We hope you’ll join us for what promises to be a brilliant evening of entertainment, community spirit and a little bit of movie magic!
Sunny Days Are Here!
With the warmer weather arriving, please can we ask that children bring a sun hat and a water bottle to school each day. Please also apply suncream, if appropriate, before they come to school in the morning. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe, happy and sun-safe while enjoying the wonderful sunshine!
Multi-Purpose Building Enabling Works
You may have noticed that work has begun this week on the initial enabling phase for our new multi-purpose building. Additional safety fencing has now been installed around the construction area to ensure the site remains secure.
This is a very exciting milestone for Bexton. After many years of planning, it’s fantastic to see the project finally getting underway!
Once completed, the new building will provide a dedicated space for our wraparound care and holiday club, whilst also enhancing our curriculum offer. The facilities will support a wider range of learning opportunities aligned with The Pathway curriculum, including improved spaces for art, music, and dance/gym activities.
We are working closely with the construction team to minimise disruption, particularly during drop-off and pick-up times. However, access to the site will be required via the entrance on Bexton Lane. We therefore kindly ask all parents and carers to help keep this area clear at all times to ensure safe and efficient access.
We will continue to keep you updated on progress throughout the summer term. Thank you, as always for your patience and ongoing support as we move forward with this exciting development.
Another Brilliant Colour Run
I think we can all agree that last week’s Colour Run was a fantastic success and we want to say another huge thank you to all of our parents and families for your incredible support.
A special thank you needs to go to Anne Hughes, Katie Garajova, and our brilliant team of volunteers who worked so hard behind the scenes to make the event run so smoothly. The children had an unforgettable time - full of colour, laughter and plenty of happy (if slightly messy!) faces.
We’re delighted to share that we have already raised an amazing £3,400, with donations still coming in.
If you haven’t yet had a chance to send in your sponsorship, the link is still open: https://gofund.me/d2189ae72?utm_source=chatgpt.com. We kindly ask that any remaining sponsorship is submitted by the end of the weekend so we can confirm our final total next week.
Thank you once again for your continued support of the school - we’re already looking forward to next year’s event!
Sports Week
Following the success of last year, we are excited to launch another inspiring Sports Week (week commencing 15th June), with a focus on encouraging every child to enjoy 60 minutes of activity each day.
Our aim is to inspire children to stay active while also taking care of their health and wellbeing. All pupils will be involved, including our nursery children, and we are keen to make this a fun, engaging and memorable experience for everyone.
We are therefore looking for parents and carers who have sporting skills, experience, or links to local clubs who would be willing to volunteer and support us. This could include leading a short workshop, running a taster session, delivering a classroom-based activity, or even sharing your own sporting journey in an assembly.
It would be wonderful if you had something to share with our children.
In return for your support, we will be pleased to promote your sporting club or activity within our school community.
If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Mrs. Rea or email the school office at admin@bexton.cheshire.sch.uk.
We have included some photos from last year’s Sports Week below to give you a flavour of the activities.
We look forward to working together to make this year’s Sports Week another fantastic success!

May Holiday Club
A reminder that you can still book a place for your child to attend the May holiday club. Bookings will close on Friday 8th May to allow us to ensure appropriate staffing.
Musician of the Month
The musician of the month for April is Kraftwerk. The children have learned about them in assembly and enjoyed listening to their music. Attached is the home information sheet so that you can enjoy their music together too.
Fire Service Road Safety Visit
Year 5 enjoyed a visit from Cheshire Fire Service, learning important road safety tips, including safe crossing, seatbelts and bike safety. What a great session!
Eco News
Plants grow from seeds, bulbs, and tubers. These can grow into grasses, flowers, trees as well as fruit and vegetables. Can you recognise and name the spring flowers on the link?
As a further challenge which did they grow from , apple blossom, tulip or a potato?
Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday, thank you for your lovely book!
