Join Us for the First Friends of Bexton (FOBS) Meeting of the Year
We’re pleased to invite parents and carers to our very first FOBS meeting of the year on Monday 13th October at 7.30pm at school.
FOBS (Friends of Bexton) is our fantastic PTA and it plays a huge part in making school life even more special for our children. From organising fun events to raising vital funds for resources and opportunities, everything we do makes a real difference. We are currently halfway towards our astro resurfacing total after already funding the fencing this last year and, dependent on funds, we are hoping to be able to finish the project next summer!
At this meeting, we’ll be deciding which year groups will help organise and run our events this year – so it’s the perfect time to come along, share your ideas and get involved right from the start.
Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or completely new to FOBS, we’d LOVE to see you there. Even if you can only help with one event, every bit of support really does count.
Team Talk- The Social Trail

Our Team Talk this week was all about the Social Trail. We explored what makes a great friend and how small acts of kindness can have a big impact. Younger pupils made “friendship pledges,” while older children discussed tricky moments like disagreements and how to sort them out kindly and fairly.
💡 At home, you could share stories about times when kindness made a difference to your day - big or small.
Hello Yellow

On Friday 10th October, we will be celebrating World Mental Health Day. As a school community, we will be raising money for Young Minds with a dress down day (with a hint of yellow). The children will take part in activities that encourage them to take care of their own mental well-being, while also raising awareness of the charity - showing children and young people they're not alone with their mental health. A reminder about coats, wellies and trainers for breaktimes!
As part of our OPAL play commitment, children go outside to play in all weathers (as long as it’s safe to do so). To make sure everyone can join in and enjoy our wonderful outdoor spaces, please ensure your child brings a coat, waterproof over trousers and a pair of trainers or wellies to school every day.
We have noticed a few children missing out recently because they haven’t had suitable clothing and we don’t want anyone to miss the fun! If you are finding it difficult to source outdoor items, please do let us know and we will try and help.
Grandparents' Day!
We had such a wonderful time celebrating Grandparents’ Day last week. It was a joy to welcome so many grandparents and close family members into school to share the children’s learning and performances.
We would also like to say a huge thank you for the generosity shown in donations towards resurfacing our astro. Thanks to their kindness, we raised an incredible £1,431 – a massively impressive and very helpful contribution to this important project. Please send our thanks to your kind family members.
Year 6 Bikeability
On Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th September, our Year 6 children participated in the Bikeability Level 2 programme. Under the guidance of their instructors, the students diligently engaged in various activities aimed at enhancing their cycling proficiency. In small groups, they acquired essential skills, including vital strategies for ensuring safety while cycling on the roads.
Eco News
Now’s the perfect time to think ahead to spring and get those bulbs planted! Whether in the lawn, pots, or borders, spring flowers like snowdrops, daffodils, tulips, crocuses, and hyacinths will bring a joyful burst of colour to brighten up even the greyest New Year’s day. They’re easy to grow—just be sure to plant them deep enough so the squirrels don’t treat themselves to an early feast! 🌱✨🌷
Happy Birthday!
Thank you, for your wonderful book!
