Congratulations to Y6!

We would like to say a huge congratulations to all of Year 6, who completed their SATs assessments this week. We could not be prouder of the positivity, resilience and determination they have shown throughout the entire process.

The children have worked incredibly hard all year and have approached each assessment with confidence, maturity and a genuine eagerness to do their very best. There was a wonderfully calm and positive atmosphere throughout the week and the children truly represented themselves (and Bexton!) brilliantly. Of course, the delicious SATs breakfasts provided each morning by our wonderful Year 6 staff team may also have helped to keep spirits high!

Whatever views may exist nationally around SATs and their relevance, what matters most to us is the way our children approached the week: supporting one another, showing perseverance and demonstrating just how much they have grown during their time at Bexton. They have done us incredibly proud.

As the children now begin moving towards their final weeks at Bexton, there is definitely a growing sense of reflection amongst staff. It has been a real privilege to watch the children grow and flourish over the years and, whilst we are excited for the opportunities that lie ahead for them, it will be very sad to see them leave. We are so proud of every single one of them. Well done, Year 6!

Bexton Cinema Bonanza Success!

A huge thank you must go to all of our families (over 700 of you!) who came along to support our very first Bexton Cinema Bonanza. It was a fantastic evening filled with dancing, singing, laughter and lots of opportunities to catch up with friends. The atmosphere throughout the evening was wonderful and it was lovely to see so many families enjoying the event together.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to all of the volunteers and staff who helped coordinate and run the evening. Events like this simply would not be possible without the support, enthusiasm and dedication of our wider school community and we feel incredibly lucky to have such a committed team of people around us who help to create these special opportunities for our children and families.

We are also delighted that the event appears to have raised a significant amount towards the refurbishment of our astro turf (the final amount will be confirmed next week) — a project which is now becoming a very real possibility. Thank you once again for your continued support of the school.

Year 3 Chester Zoo

Last Thursday, the children in Year 3 had the most wonderful visit to Chester Zoo to further their Geography learning about Rainforests. The children participated incredibly in workshops, showcasing their knowledge about the layers of the rainforest, the animals who inhabit there and what we can all do to help stop deforestation. The children were so excited to see rainforest animals up close and personal in the beautiful spaces that have been created for them by Chester Zoo, replicating their natural habitat in the wild. Mrs. Yardley-Goldrick and Miss Nuttall were extremely proud of the children; they demonstrated all of our Bexton Values whilst out in the community. They are also extremely grateful to the parents who volunteered to help, meaning the children could experience this learning outside of the classroom.

Mrs. Rea Reception - Cheshire Forest Schools Trip

What an amazing day Reception had at Cheshire Forest School on Monday! 🌿

We spent the day exploring the forest, getting creative by hammering plants into fabric to make beautiful bookmarks and making clay animals using natural materials we found around us.

The compost toilet was definitely a learning experience for everyone! 😂

We finished the day around the campfire with songs, marshmallows and hot chocolate...the perfect ending to a fantastic adventure. 🔥☕️
