Final Week

As we head into the final few days of another fantastic school year, we wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you for the incredible support you have shown throughout the year, and especially over the past few busy weeks.

We have been blown away by the number of parents and family members who have joined us for Sports Days, class assemblies (despite the soaring temperatures!), music concerts, trips, residentials and so many other events. Your encouragement, enthusiasm and willingness to support the children means so much to us and helps to make these experiences even more special. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a supportive school community and truly appreciate everything you do.

As we approach the finish line, there are still lots of exciting events to look forward to. Please do take a few moments to check the dates at the top of this newsletter carefully so that you don't miss any of the end-of-term celebrations and activities.

We have also attached next year's term dates as a reminder. If you are planning any holidays, please check these carefully before making any bookings. Unfortunately, holidays during term time cannot be authorised, and the Department for Education continues to tighten both attendance expectations and the issuing of penalty notices. We'd hate for any family to be caught out, so a quick check now could save disappointment later.

Thank you once again for your continued support. We're very much looking forward to making these final few days of term memorable for all of our children.

Hot Weather Arrangements for the Final Week

As we head into our last week of the school year next week, the hot weather looks set to continue. With this in mind, we have made the decision to continue allowing children to come to school in their own lightweight clothes for the remainder of the school year, rather than wearing school uniform.

As always, please ensure that clothing and footwear are suitable for school and appropriate for a busy school day. Children should also bring a refillable water bottle and a sun hat each day, and we ask that sun cream is applied before they come to school each morning.

Thank you, as always, for your support and flexibility. We know the final week of term is already a busy one, so anything that helps the children stay a little cooler, more comfortable and ready to enjoy their last few days in school can only be a good thing!

Looking Ahead to Another Exciting Year at Bexton!

The children had a wonderful time during yesterday's transition sessions and it was lovely to see them beginning to get to know their new teachers and learning environments. There was a real buzz around school and we are already looking forward to another fantastic year together.

The staff have already started to plan exciting learning opportunities for September. Building on the success of The Pathway this year, our curriculum will place an even greater emphasis on developing a wider range of skills through our Pathway Trails, helping children to grow not only academically but also personally. We can't wait to see where these exciting new adventures take us!

As always, the end of the school year brings a few staffing changes and opportunities to celebrate some very special members of our Bexton team.

We are absolutely delighted for Miss. Wrench, who will be starting her maternity leave at the beginning of the autumn term as she prepares to welcome her baby. We know you will join us in wishing her every happiness during this exciting new chapter. We are equally delighted to welcome Mr. Walsh back to Bexton to cover Miss. Wrench's maternity leave. Many families will remember him from his time with us in 2021 before he relocated and we are thrilled that he is returning to Cheshire and rejoining our Year 4 team.

This summer we will also be saying a heartfelt farewell to Mrs. Howard, who is retiring after an incredible 25 years of dedicated service to Bexton. Throughout her time here she has touched the lives of countless children and families and has been a much-loved colleague and friend to so many. Whilst we will miss her enormously, we wish her a long, happy and well-deserved retirement and know she will enjoy spending lots of precious time with her grandchildren.

Our Pre-School team will also be saying goodbye to three wonderful colleagues: Helen Allen, Gill Downes and Jane Perry. Between them they have dedicated many years of care, kindness and commitment to our youngest children, helping to give hundreds of families such a positive start to their educational journey. We are incredibly grateful for everything they have done for Bexton and know they will always receive the warmest of welcomes when they come back to visit.

As one chapter closes, another begins, and we are delighted to welcome Michelle Statham and Melissa Antoniak to our Nursery team from September. They bring with them a wealth of childcare experience and a shared belief that children's interests should always be at the heart of learning. We know they will be a fantastic addition to the Bexton family.

Whilst everyone is undoubtedly looking forward to a well-earned summer break, we are already excited about everything September has in store. Here's to another fun-filled, memorable and successful year at Bexton!

Second Hand Uniform Sale 4MW

On Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th we will be holding a 2nd hand uniform ‘sale’ after school in Mr Water’s classroom. Parents are more than welcome to pop in to help themselves to the uniform. Voluntary donations are most welcome and will go towards the Astro-turf fund. The uniform will be available until 3:45 each day.

Extra-Curricular Clubs

A reminder that today is the last day for extra-curricular clubs this academic year. The new clubs timetable (Autumn 1 2026)  will be emailed on Monday 7th September. Bexton Clubs will become available for booking on Wednesday 9th September.

Year 6 - Harry Potter World

Year 6 had a truly magical day at Harry Potter World on Tuesday! It was wonderful to see so many of the places, props and characters we have enjoyed reading about brought to life. The Great Hall was every bit as impressive as we had imagined, while the Forbidden Forest certainly kept us on our toes!

One of the highlights was discovering how the films were made and walking through the very sets where the actors brought the stories to life. It was a fascinating experience and one that the children will remember for many years to come.

As always, the children were an absolute credit to Bexton. We received so many lovely compliments about their behaviour, manners and enthusiasm throughout the day, which made us incredibly proud. It was a fantastic trip and a wonderful way to celebrate their final few weeks at primary school.

Cheshire Water Safety Group

With the recent spell of very warm weather, we know that many families will be spending more time outdoors and around rivers, lakes, canals and other open water. Sadly, the risk of water-related accidents increases significantly during hot weather, so it is important that both children and adults understand how to stay safe.

Please take a few moments to read the attached guidance from the Cheshire Water Safety Group and discuss it with your child. A little awareness can make a huge difference in helping everyone enjoy the summer safely.

Family Disco

Beat the Heat with an Air-Conditioned Family Disco! 🪩

A reminder that Knutsford Market Hall will be hosting a family-friendly disco for children aged 10 and under on Sunday 12th July.

Join DJ Pete Dean for an afternoon packed with dancing, games and great music—all in the comfort of our air-conditioned venue. It's the perfect way to keep the little ones entertained while escaping the summer heat!

Sweet Knutsford will also be open throughout the event, serving a selection of refreshments and tasty treats.

Parking with Consideration

Over the past few weeks, we have unfortunately received a number of complaints from our neighbours about parking at drop-off and collection times. We know these are busy parts of the day and that everyone is trying to get where they need to be, but we would really appreciate your support in helping us to be considerate members of our local community.

Please do not park across residents' driveways or on double yellow lines or zig-zag markings. It can be incredibly frustrating for residents when they are unable to leave or access their own homes because their driveway has been blocked, as shown in the photograph below.

As a school, we work hard to maintain positive relationships with our neighbours and we are very grateful for their ongoing support. Dealing with parking complaints also takes a significant amount of leadership time, which we would much rather spend focusing on the children and the exciting opportunities we provide for them.

Thank you for helping us to keep our school community safe, respectful and welcoming for everyone by parking responsibly. We have been in contact with PCSO Carlos, who will continue to visit the area and speak to drivers who are parking inappropriately, taking further action where necessary.

We really do appreciate your continued support.
