A Huge Well Done to Year 6!

We couldn’t be prouder of our amazing Year 6 children this week! They tackled their SATs with such positivity, focus and resilience – and all with big smiles and brilliant attitudes. They’ve worked so hard, supported one another beautifully, and truly showed what they're made of. A massive thank you to all the staff who have cheered them on every step of the way, and to families for the support, love and encouragement behind the scenes. You’ve done it, Year 6 – we’re so proud of you!

Here comes the sun...

Please can we ask that all children bring a sun hat and a water bottle to school each day. Please also apply sun cream before they come to school in the morning. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe, happy and sun-safe while enjoying the wonderful sunshine!

Payment Reminder

As the half-term holiday rapidly approaches, please can we remind all parents that debts for Dinners, Nursery and Dawn2Dusk must be paid in full by Friday 30th May. Thank you

VE Day

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to the VE Day appeal in support of The Royal British Legion. We’re proud to share that the school raised an amazing £211.33, helping to support The Royal British Legion’s vital work - your generosity makes a real difference, thank you!

Year 1 and Year 4 P.E.

Year One and Year Four teamed up for P.E. this week. The older children planned a range of games and activities to help the Year One children practise and improve their throwing and catching skills. Year Four showed great leadership skills and creativity, and the year one children had a great time learning and playing alongside them.

Smartphones and Social Media

We are aware that some parents have been sharing information about the Smartphone Free Childhood initiative, which encourages families to make informed decisions about when to introduce smartphones to their children. While our school policy remains that smartphones and smartwatches are not permitted during the school day, we recognise that decisions around phone use at home are ultimately a matter for families.

At school, we take the education of children around online safety, responsible technology use and digital well-being incredibly seriously. These themes are embedded across our curriculum to help pupils develop a critical understanding of both the opportunities and challenges that come with growing up in a digital world. Where appropriate, we also share information with parents to help them support their children’s digital lives and make informed choices.

If you are interested, the link to the Smartphone Free Childhood website can be found here: https://smartphonefreechildhood.co.uk/. The site provides resources and guidance to support parents in navigating discussions about smartphones, parental controls and social media.

Eco News

Cheshire East is promoting an exciting new competition that gives children the chance to help their school win funding - by getting creative!

What goes where?
Can you remember which packaging, objects, or food waste go in which bin?
Show us what you know!

Children are invited to create a piece of artwork in any style and using any materials - especially recycled ones - to show and explain their answers. This could be a drawing, painting, sculpture, or even a video (with parental consent), all about recycling at home or at school.

Let your imagination run wild while helping our planet - and our school! Entries to be handed in to Mrs. Ledwith by Friday 23rd May.

Please find attached more information on recycling.

Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday Charlotte, George and Alice, thank you, for your lovely books!
