Summer Disco Update
We wanted to let parents and carers know that, due to the hot weather currently forecast for next Friday, we have made the decision to cancel the planned Summer Disco.
We will instead be planning a replacement event during the first half of next term so the children will still have something special to look forward to. Further details will be shared once these arrangements have been confirmed.
Thank you, as always, for your understanding and support.
Reading Books
Please could all school reading books be returned by Wednesday 8th July so that we can carry out our end-of-year stock check. We kindly ask parents to double-check bookshelves and bags at home, as replacing lost books can be costly. Over the summer, we encourage children to make use of the local library to continue their regular reading. Thank you for your support.
Toy Appeal Teddy Collection
Many of you will be familiar with the wonderful work of the Toy Appeal, a charity we have proudly supported in previous years. Thanks to the incredible generosity of Bexton families, hundreds of children have benefitted from our donations that help create Christmas parcels for children who may otherwise receive very little.
Dee Drake, one of the founders of the Toy Appeal, has once again asked for our support and we would love to help. This year, the charity is asking for donations of new or nearly-new teddy bears. As the appeal continues to grow, preparations for Christmas need to begin earlier each year.
If you are able to donate a new or nearly-new teddy, please send it into school via your child's class teacher or hand it in at the school office. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help bring comfort, joy and a little Christmas magic to a child who may be facing difficult circumstances.
Thank you, as always, for your kindness and support.
Extra-Curricular Clubs
A reminder that next week will be the final week of extra-curricular clubs. The new clubs timetable (Autumn 1 2026) will be emailed on Monday 7th September. Bexton Clubs will become available for booking on Wednesday 9th September.
Tennis Tournament
A huge congratulations to our Year 4 mixed tennis team, who yesterday competed in the Knutsford Tennis Tournament against several local schools. The team delivered an outstanding performance, proudly finishing in first place!!
Throughout the tournament, they demonstrated excellent teamwork, determination and exceptional sportsmanship, encouraging and supporting one another both on and off the court. It was a fantastic achievement and we are incredibly proud of them all. Well done to everyone involved!
Year 5 London Residential
Year 5 had a fantastic residential trip to London, enjoying an action-packed few days filled with unforgettable experiences. The children took in the incredible views from the London Eye, explored the Egyptian galleries at the British Museum, enjoyed a geography and history cruise along the River Thames, watched the spectacular Lion King show, investigated Victorian crime and punishment at the London Archives and spotted famous London landmarks on a sightseeing tour.
We were incredibly proud of the Year 5 children, their enthusiasm, curiosity and behaviour were outstanding throughout the trip and they were wonderful ambassadors for Bexton. A big thank you as well to all of the staff who accompanied the children and helped to make the residential such a memorable experience. What an adventure!
