Bexton Bright Beginnings
We are really excited to share that Friday 13th February will be our first official Bexton Bright Beginnings afternoon!
To help create a real sense of celebration and togetherness, it will also be a non-uniform day and children are encouraged to dress in bright clothing.
Bright Beginnings is a unique Bexton initiative designed to bring learning to life through hands-on and wholesome experiences. It sits alongside our curriculum and gives every child the chance to develop essential life skills through real-world adventure.
Many of our pupils already enjoy a wide range of opportunities outside of school but Bright Beginnings is about ensuring that every child can take part in experiences that broaden horizons, spark curiosity and build confidence. From connecting with nature and cooking outdoors, to performing, creating, building and helping others, these activities are designed to develop children’s independence, responsibility and resilience – all while having lots of fun.
Bright Beginnings is also an important part of The Pathway at Bexton. Across each session, children will be practising and celebrating skills linked to our five Trails: Performance, Social, Community, Team and Communication.
We can’t wait to see the children enjoying their first Bright Beginnings afternoon!
Cinema Night Thank you!
Cinema Night last Friday was a great success, with nearly 200 children joining us to watch Minecraft – The Movie, which was clearly enjoyed by all!
Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening run so smoothly. Our brilliant Year 6 parent helpers organised all the refreshments and staff kindly gave up their time so the children could enjoy a fun and relaxed evening together. Thanks to this support, we raised an impressive £780.00 towards our ever-growing astroturf fund.
Thanks again for your continued support - we really couldn’t do these events without you. If you’re looking forward to the next one, don’t forget to put Friday 13th March in your diary for our next fundraiser – a Family Bingo Night in the hall, where Bingo Star will be making a much-anticipated return!
Children's Mental Health Week
From Monday 9th February - Friday 13th February, we will be celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week, with the theme ‘This is my place’.
Throughout the week, the children will take part in a variety of practical activities aimed at strengthening friendships across year groups, promoting teamwork and creating a sense of belonging at Bexton.
Chinese New Year Menu
On Thursday 12th February, we will be celebrating Chinese New Year, welcoming the Year of the Horse.
To mark the occasion, our school kitchen will be offering a special Chinese-themed menu, giving children the opportunity to enjoy a variety of flavours inspired by Chinese cuisine. The kitchen will also be serving pasta and sandwiches for Year 3 to 6.
Year 6 Football Matches
Yesterday, some of our Year 6 pupils took part in two exciting football matches with fantastic results. Mr. Withnell led the girls’ team in a home fixture against Mobberley, securing a hard-fought 1–0 victory. Meanwhile, Mr. Roberts took the boys’ team away to Knutsford Academy, where they were involved in a thrilling match and came out winners with an impressive 6–5 win! Well done to all the players for their teamwork, determination and sportsmanship.
Year 6 Shadow Work
Year 6 had a lot of fun exploring shadows. Using torches, they learnt how shadows were created and how to change the length and size of the shadows.
Year 1 Science
Year 1 have been busy planting beans in Science today! 🌱 We learned the parts of a plant, talked about what plants need to grow and made our predictions. Now we’re excited to see what happens next!
