Happy Half Term!
Well, that half term flew by! It may have been short, but it has certainly been packed full of fun, sunshine and fantastic moments. Highlights for us have included the brilliant Y4 residential, joyful May Day celebrations, fantastic class assemblies, the buzz of Bexfest and simply making the most of OPAL in our beautiful school grounds in this glorious weather. We really do feel lucky to have such a special space for the children to explore and enjoy!
In the classroom, the children have continued to impress us all with their enthusiasm and hard work. Our recent progress meetings have shown just how far they’ve come this year – what a team! A very special mention has to go to our amazing Year 6 pupils who completed their SATs last week. We couldn’t be prouder of their determination, positive attitude and the resilience they’ve shown. You’ve done yourselves proud, Year 6 – we’ve loved watching you grow and we can’t wait to celebrate with you at your Leavers’ Event on Thursday 17th July (although there may be a few tissues needed!).
Looking ahead, we’ve got another action-packed half term coming up, with the Y5 residential to London, Sports Week (culminating in our always-popular Sports Day), the school disco, more class assemblies and trips, Bikeability, and transition days all on the horizon. Please do keep an eye on the bulletin dates so you don’t miss a thing!
In the meantime, have a wonderful, relaxing half term break - fingers crossed for more of this sunshine - and we’ll see you all back on Tuesday 3rd June!
Holidays During Term Time - A Reminder
We’ve seen a noticeable rise in holiday requests during May and we’d like to take this opportunity to remind families that holidays during term time cannot be authorised. This is due to increasingly strict guidance being applied nationally.
Please be aware that any unauthorised absence of 5 days or more may result in a fixed penalty notice of £80 per child, per parent.
We understand that time away together as a family is important and we kindly ask for your support in planning holidays during the 13 weeks of school breaks available each year. Your cooperation helps ensure consistency and the best possible learning outcomes for all children.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
Bexfest!
Last Friday’s Bexfest was a truly special evening, full of laughter, music and festival spirit. Blessed with beautiful weather, families and children soaked up the sunshine and the festival atmosphere, making it a night to remember.
A heartfelt thank you goes to our incredible performers: Start Without Me, The Bextones, State of Flux, Instant Vintage and DJs Kurt Williams and Tim H. Their energy and talent brought the stage to life and kept the crowd dancing.
Behind the scenes, our team of dedicated volunteers made the event run seamlessly - from setting up to coordinating activities and keeping everything running smoothly. Thank you all for your hard work and enthusiasm - it really made a difference.
We’re also deeply grateful to our generous sponsors: House by Chapter, Williams Design and Build, The Wristband Company and Hire Requirements. Their support was vital in making this event possible and we couldn’t have done it without them.
We know that some families were disappointed not to have been able to attend this year due to limited ticket availability. Please know that we’ve heard your feedback and are currently reviewing how we manage the event moving forward. After the half-term holiday, we’ll be inviting children and parents to share their views to help guide our planning – with the aim of including as many of you as possible next time.
Thanks to your support, we expect to have raised approximately £4,000 again this year (final total to be confirmed after all costs are settled), bringing us close to the halfway mark in our mission to renovate our much-loved astroturf.”
With £40,000 already raised and another £40,000 to go, we’re optimistic that, with your continued involvement, we’ll reach our goal in the next two years.
Thank you for your continued support, in all its forms. It is what helps us keep making progress towards our goals and we’re excited to keep working together on what comes next.

Summer Reading Challenge
Organised by The Reading Agency (www.readingagency.org.uk) and the UK public library network since 1999, the Summer Reading Challenge is the UK’s biggest annual reading promotion for children aged 4 to 11. Last year, 5619 children took part across Cheshire East.
The Summer Reading Challenge combines free access to books with fun, creative activities during the summer holidays.
Throughout the Challenge, library staff and young volunteers support the children, helping them to discover new authors and illustrators and to explore a wide range of different types of books and ways of reading.
It's a great way to keep children reading for pleasure and developing their literacy skills over the summer.

Knutsford Primary School Ball
Knutsford Primary Schools Masquerade Ball and Oil Art Advisory of Knutsford have joined forces to offer a fantastic opportunity to local budding artists.
We would love for you to design the most creative and amazing mask you can by the 18th June (handed into reception at your schools) where Zoe from Oil Art Advisory will pick a winner from each school who will have their designs printed in the annual brochure that goes out this summer. She will also choose the one top winner across all the schools who will have their design displayed in the art gallery for 1 week at the end of June!
This is fantastic opportunity and we encourage everyone to get involved - remember any format is welcome, painted, printed, drawn, coloured, stuck or embellished. Cultures from all over the world use masks and we welcome any style not just a Masquerade mask.
If you are still wanting to purchase tickets then please speak to your reps Laura, Julia and Alex.
We will be sending out raffle tickets to pre buy for our amazing raffle so even if you can’t make it on the night, there is still the opportunity to support it!

Eco News
Have you noticed any acrobatic birds swooping over the fields or around your home lately?
If you're lucky, they might even be nesting on your property!
Now is the perfect time to watch for swallows, swifts, and house martins as they migrate from Africa to the UK to raise their chicks. But how can you tell them apart?
Since these birds are fast flyers, spotting the differences can be tricky. A helpful tip is to look at the shape of their tails.
Click the link to learn how to identify each species and make the most of your birdwatching!
