Co-opted Governor Vacancy

The school’s governing board is responsible for providing confident and strategic leadership, and creating robust accountability, oversight and assurance for the school’s educational and financial performance. The board is passionate about education and committed to continuous school improvement to ensure the best possible outcomes for our pupils.

We have a vacancy for a co-opted governor to join our Local Governing Board. 

As a  governor, you’ll work with the board to ensure it effectively carries out the duties referred to above. 

To be a governor you should have:

  • A strong commitment to the role and to improving outcomes for children
  • Good inter-personal skills, curiosity, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • The specific skills required to ensure the governing board delivers effective governance

The time commitment is 2-3 hours per week, to include attending school visits, reading papers, completing training, working on projects with other governors, keeping up with emails, and attending a 3 hour Local Governing Board (LGB) meeting each month (on a Wednesday at 6pm.)

The governor role is a voluntary one. 

All our governors follow a code of conduct which is explained during induction.

As a co-opted governor, you will be appointed by our Local Governing Board.
