The Crayons came to Bexton!
On Monday 11th January we held a special 'crayons day' to celebrate the wonderful book 'The Day the Crayons Came Home' by Drew Daywalt. All the children came to school dressed in their favourite colours, listened to the story in a whole school assembly with Mrs Sach and then wrote their own postcards in the style of the book. In the afternoon the children continued to focus on the book with an outdoor quiz and develop their design and technology skills by making homes for the crayons to live in.
During the rest of the week the children continued to use the experience of making crayons and their homes to stimulate ideas for writing. The quality of writing around school, from Reception writing their own post cards to Year 6 writing estate agent details to sell their house to a crayon, was excellent.
We hope you enjoy the photos.
